Friday night 4/29/11 Grundy County Speedway
Nutley Motorsports is pleased to announce that John is the current points leader at Grundy County Speedway after the first night of racing! John was able to finish 2nd in the heat race with radio problems and finsihed 3rd in the feature after being sent to the back!
Saturday Night 4/30/11 Illliana Speedway
Heat race started off really well for John, during the 5th lap John was involved in a wreck and had to pull off the track. With the help f his crew guys and Brian Kucaba, Turbo stock driver at Illiana Motorspeedway, he was able to get back out on the track to finish 6th in the feature. John and crew did an amazing job racing this weekend and are currently working on fixing both cars to head out to Grundy and Illiana this week.
Keep an eye out for updates from next weekend!

Sorry about the delay in updates. It's been a crazy week in New Smyrna! Saturday nights race John finished 2nd in his feature, due to a valve spring infraction (.002"), he was DQ'd and had to start in the back of the pack for Monday's race. Just to be clear, according to the ASA rules the valve spring IS legal. Tech Manager Ricky Brooks, also admitted if they were painted yellow they wouldn't have questioned it.
For Monday's race, John started in last position. Made his way through the field and after a minor incident on the track which caused him to require a little help from his crew, John finished in 12th position. Tuesday's race John started in 12th position, after many failed attempts at restarts, John was involved in another incident on the track in which he had to pull off. Wedensday's race John had started 16th position and had made his way through the field to finish 4th, which put him in an excellent starting position for Thursday's race. Due to a slip on the trailing arm, which caused a push in the car, John finished 10h. Friday's race was a qualifying event, John admittedly slipped on the second qualifying lap, and qualified 12th and finished 7th.
All in all, John had a lot to overcome. He and his crew rebuilt the car on 2 different nights but still managed to finish 9th in the points race. Still a top 10 finish for him and his crew, but it was a learning experience. John did some excellent driving and his crew did an amazing job getting him back out there on the track. We will be ready for next year! New Smyrna boys better watch out!

John had a great night out on his first run at New Smyrna Speedway! He had a great time, the track is fast and he's having a lot of fun out there. John finished 6th out of 22 cars and was only 3/10th's off of fast time. If he keeps going the way he's going he will finish in the top 5 if not better. This will be an excellent addition to his resume. Way to go John and Nutley Motorsports Crew! Keep up the hard work, and we will show these Southern's what a Chicago boy can do! GO NUTLEY!!!
